Jessica's Story

Jessica's Story

Jessica's Story

"I have always fostered a deep love for hair and makeup, but it took a tragic, life-altering event for me to seriously pursue it. In 2010, I was diagnosed with a late stage of cancer and decided to take control of my life. I shaved my head, drew on eyebrows and rocked Chanel Mascara on some doe-eyed fake lashes.  Seeing other women give up really disturbed me so I brought along some beauty staples to share. BAM! Cancer was no longer ugly.

In January, 2013, I took the leap to move to Los Angeles to pursue my freelance career and have loved every moment of it.  Today, I am 100% cancer-free and pursuing my career as a Licensed Cosmetologist.  I'm a volunteer for the Look Good Feel Better program and can still wrap a mean head scarf.   Checkmate, cancer. Checkmate."
