As you may already know, I recently moved to the amazing Capella Salon, owned by one of my mentors, Shai Amiel, the Curl Doctor. The salon is a gorgeous, open floor plan with loft-style ceilings, amazing massage chairs, good music and a truly relaxing vibe.

I wanted to touch base to let you know that myself and the entire Capella team, to include the Curl Doctor himself, are taking every possible precaution to keep you safe, clean and healthy during your salon visit.

One of the most important parts of a salon visit is the relaxation factor, and if there is fear about getting sick, that relaxation can’t occur.

So, in order to maintain the utmost professionalism and cleanliness, our stations are sanitized AND disinfected between every client. Masks are required for every person entering the salon, to include all team members. Anyone who enters the salon must have their temperature taken via a touchless thermometer. If a fever is detected, your appointment will be rescheduled, free of charge. Hand sanitizer is placed in several areas of the salon, to include all bathrooms, the change room, the front desk and every styling station.

Our towels and smocks are sent out to a laundry service in order to be disinfected and are returned in sterile plastic so that there is significantly less risk of ANY sort of contamination. All sanitizers and cleaners are approved to kill Corona Virus and are left on equipment for the full 10 minutes, as directed by the CDC and California State cosmetology board guidelines. We have also installed plexiglass dividers between each shampoo bowl to have added protection for every client who comes through our door.

All combs, clips, brushes and styling tools are also properly disinfected using Barbicide, a hospital-grade chemical approved by the California State Cosmetology Board to kill Corona Virus, and many other infectious diseases. Finally, the salon is operating at 25% capacity to help limit the number of people inside the building at one time. This also allows for a more calming environment for you, the client.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. This year has been difficult for everyone, and I cannot thank you enough for continuing to trust me with your hair. I look forward to seeing you again very soon and as always, please feel free to always reach out to me with any questions via phone, email, social media or through the salon.

I do hope that you and your family have managed to stay safe, healthy and happy during these weird times.

Here’s to a better year in 2021!

Sunny surf and wild horses,

Jessica
